The Mathias Baumann Group is a seven-piece band project. The music on the album is a fusion of creative improvised Jazz and classical music with powerful harmonic and rhythmic colours. The instrumentation features a string and a rhythm section with musicians from different European countries.
The contemporary original compositions and the album title are inspired by cultural agglomeration and a growing international community and the need for more togetherness and peace in the world. The fifth track on the album is Mathias’ arrangement of Wayne Shorter’s ‘Infant Eyes’.
The music for the album was written in 2012 and 2013 and recorded in 2014 at Tuscany Soundz Studios, Dublin.
From the Recording Diary 26/02/2014:
"TWICT is about peace: Peace with yourself, peace between people and peace with our planet. It's about positivity and change. Change to make planet earth sustainable and change to make living on this planet more harmonious and enjoyable.

The project started with one composition in 2012 which then led to another and finally an entire album. The band that I recorded the album with was very international. Most of the inspiration for the music came from my experience of living, working and studying in Dublin."
"The musical approach of combining improvised contemporary Jazz, Classical techniques, Rock riffs and Turkish rhythms, as well as, my experience of meeting people from all over the world in Dublin led to the title of the album: The World Is Coming Together."
